Glaucoma Testing

Eye pressure check is the main test to determine if the patient is at risk of developing glaucoma. At Golden Hills Optical Dr. Filatova uses Goldman applanation tonometry to check the eye pressure. After years of experience of treating and managing glaucoma she believes that it’s the most accurate way to measure eye pressure. Also we perform automated screening visual field testing on Zeiss Humphrey peripheral field analyzer every time on every patient which is an accurate way to screen for possible peripheral field defects (not noticeable to the patient).  If after initial testing suspicion for glaucoma is present then more detailed testing is ordered to confirm the condition. Once diagnosed with glaucoma and treatment is prescribed we will follow up at necessary intervals to make sure you are on track with necessary medications and eye pressure is stabilized.
